Tempe House was constructed in the 1830s for A B Spark of Tusculum, Potts Point as a picturesque rural retreat overlooking the Cook’s River. Designed by the celebrated colonial architect John Verge, its elegant porches, fine interiors, and historic garden elements – including a chapel – were conserved by Tanner Kibble Denton Architects in 2006 as a centre piece for the new urban precinct of Wolli Creek.
